My daughter, Zowie, is in her second year of college at The University of Maine. She is an Anthropology major, and works on campus. She is also in a service sorority, and is a huge hockey fan. Zowie lives on campus.
I rent a room in a house near her, and just a short walk up the road from me is The College Store. This is not the university store, but is a separate entity. The owners of said store (and others) are having financial difficulties, and have decided to close the store nearest us. I was in the store two days ago and noticed their clothing and other university logo items are 75% off.
I picked up a couple things, paying then heading home. Before I left the parking lot I ended up calling Zowie. Indeed… I woke her from a nap. It was worth it, however. I went back into the store, with her on the phone, and described items to her that were for sale. She chose what she thought she might like, and I purchased them for her.
I walked to her dorm, and completely enjoyed the excitement that she exhibited of her new clothing and other items. I convinced Zowie and her friend Mandi (surprisingly easy!) to shop with me, so we went back yesterday afternoon. They brought a friend. I purchased Zowie more clothing, as well as a few other items. I am impressed with how much I saved over regular prices.
So, Zowie is happy and has new things. I am happy as well
