Homemade Shampoo Recipes

Mama Kalila visited the blog and commented not long ago and mentioned homemade shampoo. I asked if she had any recipes and she directed me to her “no poo” post on her blog. I have posted the link to the recipes in the sidebar, but you can visit her blog at http://www.mamakalila.blogspot.com/. I enjoyed my visit … Continue reading »

Book Sharing

Lately, friends, sisters and I have been sharing books. For instance, Missy purchased The Heroin Diariesby Nikki Sixx for school, then let me borrow it. I Purchased The Dirt and Tommyland used, then handed them over to her. Sheila purchased The Secretby Rhonda Byrne to read, then let me borrow it. She then let Katie … Continue reading »

Un-Banking the Trailer

As I am working, Zowie is outside un-banking the trailer. She is 17, and has done this task for the last couple of years. She lays out the plastic so as it can dry thoroughly. In this way, we can reuse the plastic again next fall when we re-bank the trailer. She tries not to … Continue reading »

Buy Cheap Conditioner

The best place to purchase conditioner is at a dollar store or on clearance, while using a coupon. I stock up whenever I can get conditioner for under $1.00. This saves money over time. I find that even the cheap stuff works fine.   Shannon

6 Cats can be Expensive

Yup! I have 6 cats: Rowan, Tigerr and Zander would have ended up at the Humane Society if we hadn’t taken them in 5 years ago. They live with us quite happily and are our males. They were fixed long ago, and one is an indoor cat. Also indoor cats: Pixie, who is two. She … Continue reading »

Cat Litter Savings

I have six cats. The first three are adult males, and we took them in so that they would not end up at the humane society when they were kittens. They only keep them so long, then they put them down. My poor heart couldn’t take that. Pixie’s is only a couple of years old. … Continue reading »

Happenings

Some of you may have been wondering where I have been. A lot has been happening in my life as of late: I had been sick with the flu, and then it just wanted to hang onto me with fatigue for days afterward. Not good. It hurt my legs just walking the same 2.5 miles … Continue reading »

Brightest Blessings!

I hope to help as many people as possible to live more frugally, whether they have to or choose to.
I am a freelance writer and a housekeeper, bedmaker and in laundry at an inn. Most of my articles end up on eHow.com and GardeGuides.com, as well as a number of blogs, and elsewhere on the web. All of this keeps me pretty busy.
I like to try to save pennies wherever possible, incorporating sales, coupons and dollar stores into my shopping habits. It is my desire to help other to be more frugal.
Warmest Wishes
Shannon
